FFV CENTRAL VICTORIA - SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP, ROUND 18

 SENIOR DIVISION

CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 18

SUNDAY, 12th SEPTEMBER

STRATHDALE S.C.   EPSOM S.C.
V

This weekend, the Senior Divisions of the Epsom Soccer Club are closing Season 2010 in the hunt of 3 Championships of the 4 Divisions it competes in.

In the Youth Division, all they need is a win to claim the Championship ahead of ladder leader Eaglehawk.  Currently sitting on 24 points, the Youth Division has a superior goal difference and a win will seal their Championship victory and start to a great weekend for Epsom.

In the Women's Division, they currently sit 1 point behind League leaders Eaglehawk but at the same time they have a vastly superior goal difference of 16 goals.  Eaglehawk who travel away to Swan Hill are unlikely to drop points, but all things considered, strange things can happen in football in the final round of the season and the girls will be determined to not only challenge to the very end but to complete their season on a high against a determined Strathdale.  Should Eaglehawk falter and the girls claim victory, they will have won their 2nd League Championship in 3 years.

The Men's Division 1 are in a similar position to that of the Youth Division in that they sit behind the league leaders, Strathdale by 3 points.  However, unlike the Youth Divison, the Division 1 team have to overcome a goal difference of 3 goals to level their goal difference.with Strathdale.  Should they do this, not only will they be on equal on goal difference & points to Strathdale, but they will win their 5th Championship in 12 years as they have scored more goals than Strathdale.  So the Men's Division 1 will be hungry to take the challenge to Strathdale and finish the season on a strong note.
